RESOURCE ROOM

The resource room is provided as a part of the funding received from the Workforce Investment Act, and through the cooperation between the one-stop and the Virginia Employment Commission in Farmville. The resource room one-stop is available for use by ALL citizens and employers. Available resources include:

VEC registration forms for employment
VEC forms for unemployment insurance
VEC phone access for details on job listing
Initial assessment of skill levels, aptitudes, & abilities
Job search and placement assistance
Labor market information
Resume writing programs
Facsimile & copying services
Notary public services
Workspace and phone access
Videos on various employment topics
Information on Veteran Services, Trade Act Services, & the Migrant Seasonal Farm Worker Program
Information on educational and training opportunities, & financial resources
Information on performance measures in the local area
Information on supportive services
Case manager to determine service/level need
Possible funding for training/support services
Job readiness training as needed
