Family Access to Medical Insurance Security Plan


ABOUT FAMIS MOMS

The FAMIS Moms program provides health care coverage for pregnant women. The program encourages pregnant women to get early and regular prenatal care to increase their chances of having a healthy baby. There are no enrollment fees or monthly payments and no co-pays for pregnancy related services.


Who is eligible for FAMIS MOMS?

To be eligible FAMIS MOMS you should:

  •  Currently be uninsured
  •    Have a medically confirmed pregnancy or be within the sixty day period after your pregnancy ends
  •    Be a resident of Virginia
  •    Be a United States citizen or qualified legal immigrant
  •    Not have access to a state employee health plan
  •    Meet family income guidelines
